Privacy Policy — Staff Radar

Last updated: 6 October 2026

Staff Radar is a workforce attendance app used by employers such as security agencies, housekeeping and gardening contractors, and schools. It is provided to you by your own employer, who decides what is recorded about your work and who can see it.

In short: the app records when you check in and out of your shift, where you were at those moments, and (if your employer has switched it on) a photo of you taken at that moment. While you are checked in, it also records your location about once an hour. This information is shared with your employer's office and nobody else. It is never sold, and it is not used for advertising.

Information we collect

Your employer's office may separately upload employment documents about you (for example identity or licence documents) through their own admin system. Those are held on the same service and are visible only to your employer.

How location is used

Location is used to confirm that a check-in happened at the site you were posted to, and to show your office that you were on site during the shift. If your location does not match the site, this is flagged for your office to look at — it never blocks your check-in, because a phone's location reading can be inaccurate.

Location is collected only around your work: at check-in and check-out, while you are checked in for a shift (with an ongoing notification on your phone so you can always see it is happening; checking out stops it), and when you use the app yourself (signing in, opening it, or tapping "Send my location"). The app does not use background location when you are off shift, and it does not track you while it is closed outside working hours.

Duty alarms in your phone calendar

If you allow calendar access, the app writes your next few duty start times into your phone's own calendar, each with an alarm, so your phone reminds you before duty even without internet. The app only reads your list of calendars (to choose where to write) and the duty events it wrote itself. It never reads or sends your other calendar events. The events are removed when you sign out. If you uninstall the app, the last few days of alarms already written stay in your calendar until you delete them. You can say no, or turn this off later in your phone's settings; reminders by notification keep working.

Who can see your information

How long it is kept

Attendance and location records are kept for as long as your employer needs them for wage, attendance and statutory record-keeping, and for as long as the law requires them to keep employment records. Your employer controls this retention.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you can ask what personal data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, and raise a grievance about how it is used. Because your employer decides what is collected about your work, please contact your employer's office first. You are shown a data notice inside the app the first time you sign in.

Deleting your account and data

To have your Staff Radar account and the data held about you deleted, ask your employer's office, or email us at aruny308@gmail.com with your name, phone number and employer. We confirm the request with your employer, then delete your sign-in, device identifiers, photos and location history. Attendance and wage records that your employer must keep by law (for example for PF, ESI or wage registers) are kept only as long as that law requires, then deleted. Signing out of the app or uninstalling it does not by itself delete anything stored on the server.

Security

Information is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and stored on access-controlled servers. Access is limited to your employer's authorised office staff.

Children

Staff Radar is a workplace app intended for employed adults. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
